Die Doppelgemeinde Malsburg-Marzell liegt im hinteren Kandertal im südwestlichen Schwarzwald. Das Gemeindegebiet erstreckt sich über eine Höhenlage von 429 Meter über NN bis zum 1165 Meter hohen Blauen und ist zu mehr als 70 % von Wald bedeckt. Im Nordosten ist die Gemeinde über den Passübergang Lipple mit dem Kleinen Wiesental verbunden.
