Die Gemeinde Erlau ist ein Verbund ländlich geprägter Waldhufendörfer im Landkreis Mittelsachsen in Sachsen.
Erlau erstreckt sich zwischen den Städten Mittweida, Rochlitz, Geringswalde und Waldheim. Das Dorf liegt im Mittelsächsischen Hügelland nahe der Burg und der Talsperre Kriebstein.
