Ober-Ramstadt liegt etwa 10 km südöstlich von Darmstadt an der B 426 im vorderen Odenwald.
Am Fluss „Modau“, der durch Ober-Ramstadt fließt, liegt das Hochwasserrückhaltebecken Ober-Ramstadt, das einen drei Hektar großen Stausee bildet. Die höchste Erhebung in der Gemarkung ist der 337 m ü. NHN liegende „Hoher Rodberg“. Über diesen Höhenrücken führt die Hohe Straße, eine alte Verbindung die wahrscheinlich von Dieburg über Ober-Ramstadt in Richtung Bergstraße führte.
