Rathenow [ˈʁaːtʰənoː] ist eine amtsfreie Stadt an der Havel, etwa 70 Kilometer westlich von Berlin und der Verwaltungssitz des Landkreises Havelland in Brandenburg. Seit dem 13. Mai 2013 führt die Stadt offiziell die Zusatzbezeichnung „Stadt der Optik“.
Rathenow liegt im Westen des Landkreises Havelland und grenzt an das Land Sachsen-Anhalt . Die Havel durchfließt das Stadtgebiet.
