Großbothen ist seit 2011 ein Ortsteil der Stadt Grimma im Süden des Landkreises Leipzig in Sachsen.
Großbothen liegt im Muldental und auf den umliegenden, vor allem westlichen Höhenrücken, am Ostrand der Colditzer Heide. Die umliegenden Städte sind Colditz und die ehemalige Kreisstadt Grimma .
