Auenwald ist eine Gemeinde im Rems-Murr-Kreis in Baden-Württemberg. Der Sitz der Gemeindeverwaltung befindet sich im Teilort Unterbrüden.
Auenwald liegt am östlichen Rand der zum Naturraum Neckarbecken gehörenden Backnanger Bucht gegen den Murrhardter Wald, der einen Teil des Naturraums Schwäbisch-Fränkische Waldberge bildet. Das Gemeindegebiet liegt auf 269 bis 520 Metern Höhe und reicht vom Löss westlich und Gipskeuper östlich des Brüdenbachs über Schilf- und Kieselsandstein am Keuperrand hinauf zum Stubensandstein des Murrhardter Walds, ohne hier Knollenmergel oder Schwarzjura zu erreichen.
