Biedenkopf ist eine Kleinstadt im Norden Mittelhessens an der Grenze zu Nordrhein-Westfalen am Oberlauf der Lahn. Sie war bis zur Zusammenlegung mit dem Landkreis Marburg im Jahre 1974 Kreisstadt des Landkreises Biedenkopf und kann mithin als Hauptstadt des Hessischen Hinterlandes angesehen werden, dessen größte Stadt sie ist. Biedenkopf ist ein staatlich anerkannter Luftkurort.
