Das 6 km lange Waldhufendorf Drebach liegt in einem Nebental der Zschopau in südwest-nordöstlicher Richtung. Der Ortsteil Scharfenstein liegt im Zschopautal. Der höchste Punkt des Ortes liegt auf 600 m an der Grenze zu Ehrenfriedersdorf und der niedrigste Punkt an der Zschopau auf 340 m.
Im Osten der Gemeinde liegt Großolbersdorf, im Südosten und Süden Wolkenstein, im Süden Thermalbad Wiesenbad und im Westen Ehrenfriedersdorf und Thum.
