Timmendorfer Strand ist eine Gemeinde im Kreis Ostholstein in Schleswig-Holstein. Neben dem Hauptort gibt es die beiden Dorfschaften Groß Timmendorf mit den Wohnplätzen Groß Timmendorf und Oeverdiek sowie Hemmelsdorf mit den Wohnplätzen Hemmelsdorf, Hainholz und Nothweg. Zur Gemeinde gehört außerdem der Ortsteil Niendorf.
Als deutsches Seebad hat Timmendorfer Strand heute etwa 1.500.000 Übernachtungen pro Jahr und gilt als eines der mondänsten Ostseebäder mit großem touristischem Angebot.
