Harsewinkel [ˌhaːʁzəˈvɪŋkl] ist eine rund 25.000 Einwohner zählende Stadt im nordrhein-westfälischen Kreis Gütersloh in Ostwestfalen-Lippe . Sie liegt an der Ems und wird landschaftlich zum Münsterland gezählt.
Harsewinkel wurde um 1090 erstmals erwähnt und erlebte im Mittelalter durch die Gründung des Zisterzienser-Klosters Marienfeld einen Aufschwung. Die Stadt gehörte zum Hochstift Münster und kam 1803 mit diesem zum Königreich Preußen. In der Gebietsreform, die am 1. Januar 1973 in Kraft trat, wurde Harsewinkel dem Kreis Gütersloh zugeordnet. Bekanntestes Unternehmen der Stadt ist der Landmaschinenhersteller Claas. Seit dem 8. Juli 2013 trägt Harsewinkel den offiziellen Namenszusatz Die Mähdrescherstadt.
