Rheinhausen-Mitte ist ein Duisburger Stadtteil im Stadtbezirk Rheinhausen. Er hat 10.666 Einwohner . Als eigens bezeichneter Stadtteil existiert er erst seit der kommunalen Neuordnung, also der Eingemeindung der Stadt Rheinhausen in die Stadt Duisburg am 1. Januar 1975. Zuvor war das betreffende Gebiet im nördlichen Teil dem Ortsteil, vor 1923 der Bürgermeisterei Hochemmerich und der südliche Teil dem Ortsteil, vor 1923 der Bürgermeisterei Friemersheim zugehörig. Auf dem Gebiet von Rheinhausen-Mitte lagen die Bauerschaften Atrop und Schwarzenberg. Ab Anfang der 1950er Jahre wurde das weitgehend unbebaute Areal als "Stadtkerngebiet" bezeichnet; hier sollte das neue Stadtzentrum Rheinhausens entstehen.
