Herborn ist eine historische Fachwerkstadt an der Dill im mittelhessischen Lahn-Dill-Kreis, die bereits vor dem Ersten Weltkrieg Eigenwerbung als „Nassauisches Rothenburg“ betrieb. Sie zeichnet sich durch eine geschlossene historische Altstadt mit vielen Baudenkmalen aus acht Jahrhunderten aus, die zu den besterhaltenen mittelalterlichen Stadtanlagen Deutschlands gezählt wird.
