Die Burg Wirtemberg war eine Höhenburg und die Stammburg von Württemberg, nachdem die Vorfahren der Württemberger ihre erste Stammburg, die Burg Beutelsbach, auch Burg Kappelberg genannt, vermutlich aufgegeben hatten. Die neue Burg wurde auf dem Rotenberg erbaut , einem Ausläufer des Schurwaldes zwischen Cannstatt und Esslingen am Neckar auf der Gemarkung des heutigen Stuttgarter Stadtteils Rotenberg. Im Zeitraum von 1080 bis 1819 gab es drei Burgen dieses Namens.
