Die Dreisam ist ein 29,7 km langer Fluss in Baden-Württemberg. Er entsteht im Schwarzwald im Dreisamtal aus zwei Quellbächen. Die Dreisam durchfließt beim Eintritt in die Oberrheinebene die Stadt Freiburg im Breisgau und mündet nach insgesamt nordwestlichem Verlauf bei Riegel am Kaiserstuhl von links in die Elz. Zusammen mit ihrem längeren linken Oberlauf, im untersten Abschnitt Rotbach genannt, ist die Dreisam 48,8 km lang. Ihr rechter Oberlauf, der Wagensteigbach, ist jedoch wasserreicher und damit Teil des Hauptstrangs im Dreisam-System.
