Der Uettelsheimer See befindet sich im linksrheinischen Duisburger Stadtteil Baerl und ist ein Naherholungsgebiet. Im Osten grenzt er an Homberg, im Westen an die Stadt Moers und im Süden grenzt er an Hochheide.
Durch Kiesabgrabung entstand eine Wasserfläche von 23 ha, deren Umgebung von 1969 bis 1992 ausgebaut wurde. So wurden die Uferlinien hergerichtet, Wege und eine Parklandschaft angelegt sowie Rückzugsgebiete für Flora und Fauna geschaffen.
