Die Hoya de Guadix ist eine intramontane Senke, die zwischen den inneren und äußeren Zonen der Betischen Gebirgen entwickelt wurde, mit einer Fläche von etwa 500 km², gebildet durch die Becken der Flüsse Fardes und Guadix.[1] Sie befindet sich im nördlichen Bereich der Provinz Granada, in der autonomen Gemeinschaft Andalusien, eingeschlossen zwischen den Reliefs der Sierra Nevada im Süden, der Sierra de Baza im Osten, der Sierra Mágina im Norden und der Sierra Arana im Westen. Der Monte Jabalcón trennt sie von der Hoya de Baza.
