Es liegt auf 42° 44" 15" N und 0° 46" 25" W auf einem Hang in 548 m Höhe über dem Meeresspiegel, am linken Ufer des Flusses Bayas. Das Gelände, auf dem es steht, besteht aus Mergel und ockerfarbenem Sandstein.
Der Ort wurde seit der Vorgeschichte besiedelt. Am Fluss Bayas befindet sich der sogenannte Dolmen von Andrinales, eines von zahlreichen prähistorischen Fundstätten in der Region. Entdeckt 1955 von Domingo Medrano, besteht er aus einem halben Dutzend Sandsteinplatten ohne Decke oder Hügel, die in der Erde um einen Raum und einen Gang vergraben sind, dessen Achse in N-S-Richtung ausgerichtet ist.
