Du kannst den Pas de Soulombrie über das Tal erreichen, das im Dorf Bompas beginnt, das am Fluss L'Ariège liegt, etwa 10 km nordwestlich des Passes. Dort befindest du dich noch auf einer Höhe von etwas weniger als 500 m. Der Aufstieg im Tal beginnt langsam. Erst nach dem Dorf Arnave beginnt der steile Anstieg bis zum Pas de Soulombrie, der auf 911 m liegt. Die Berge rund um den Pass erreichen eine Höhe von über 2000 m. Der Weg zum Pass heißt Route des Corniches.
