Umgeben wird Martiel von den Nachbargemeinden Salvagnac-Cajarc und La Capelle-Balaguier im Norden, Sainte-Croix im Nordosten, Savignac im Osten, Vailhourles im Süden, Laramière im Westen sowie Puyjourdes im Nordwesten.
