Die Stadt Sault liegt auf einem felsigen Ausläufer des 'Plateau de Vaucluse' und blickt über das Tal der Nesque. Sie ist die ideale Ausgangsbasis für Ausflüge und Wanderungen zum Mont Ventoux, den Gorges de la Nesque, dem Tal von Toulourenc, der Hochfläche von Albion, dem Lubéron und anderen nahegelegenen Naturschutzgebieten in der provenzalischen Drôme und den Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. Im Untergrund des hohen Plateaus gibt es auch einige Höhlen, sodass Höhlenforscher auf ihre Kosten kommen.
Die umliegenden Lavendelfelder werden hier und da von einem Kornfeld unterbrochen und bilden ein prachtvolles Gesamtbild. Sault und seine Umgebung sind eines der sechs französischen Landschaften, die von der UNESCO geschützt werden.
