Der Turm der Stiftskirche Saint-Martin ist der markante, nach Süden ausgerichtete Glockenturm mit seiner Zwiebelkuppel, der die Silhouette von Colmar prägt. Ursprünglich sollte die Kirche zwei Türme haben, doch der geplante Nordturm wurde nie gebaut; nur der Südturm wurde fertiggestellt.
Der heutige Turm ist ein massiver, quadratischer gotischer Glockenturm aus dem 13. bis 14. Jahrhundert, der in das Westwerk der Kirche integriert ist.
Die Turmspitze und die hölzerne Dachkonstruktion des Turms gingen am 23. Mai 1572 bei einem Großbrand in der Stadt in Flammen auf.
Im Jahr 1575 erhielt der Turm seine heutige Renaissance-Kuppel, das „Lanternon à bulbe“, eine Zwiebelform mit einer kleinen Laterne an der Spitze; dadurch ist die Kirche in der Skyline sofort erkennbar.
Die Gesamthöhe des Turms/Glockenhelms beträgt ungefähr 71 Meter (ungefähr 233 Fuß).
Im Turm hängt ein Glockenspiel mit acht läutenden Glocken, dazu kommt eine kleinere Glocke in der Laterne an der Spitze.
