Witterungseinflüsse und die Zeit haben diese bizarren Formen gebildet, die bis zu 20 m aufragen und wie komische Felsriesen mit Hut anmuten. Es handelt sich um von Gletschern abgelagerten Schutt, so genanntes Moränenmaterial, das such einen steinernen Deckel davor geschützt wird, von der Erosion ins Tal geschwemmt zu werden.
