Das Rathaus von Certaldo befindet sich auf der Piazza Boccaccio.

Certaldo ist seit dem Mittelalter für seine besonderen Zwiebeln bekannt. Boccaccio, wer sonst, hat darüber bereits in seinem Decamerone geschrieben. Die Zwiebel ist sogar im Wappen von Certaldo zu finden. Es gibt zwei Sorten: die „Statina“, eine runde Zwiebel mit violetter Farbe und einem weichen, süßen Geschmack, und die „Vernina“, eine Zwiebel mit einer intensiv roten Farbe und einem scharfen Geschmack. Die Statina wird oft verwendet, um ein typisches Produkt von Certaldo herzustellen: Marmellata di Cipolla , eine Zwiebelkonfitüre, die zum Beispiel in Kombination mit Pecorino -Käse wirklich köstlich ist.
