Moestroff ist ein Ortsteil der Gemeinde Bettendorf im Bezirk Diekirch des Kantons Diekirch. Während des Zweiten Weltkriegs marschierten deutsche Armeen am 10. Mai 1940 gleichzeitig in die Niederlande, Belgien und Luxemburg ein, um Frankreich und Großbritannien gegenüberzutreten. Vor dem Grenzübertritt durch reguläre Truppen wurden in den frühen Morgenstunden des 10. Mai Spezialeinheiten eingesetzt, um erfolglos zu versuchen, die irreversiblen Blockadetore zu umgehen, die von den Luxemburgern errichtet wurden, um sie vom Grenzübertritt abzuhalten. Einer von ihnen befand sich in Moestroff.
