EIN TAG ZWISCHEN HIMMEL, NATUR UND GESCHICHTE

Fond-de-Gras war eines der wichtigsten Bergbauzentren Luxemburgs. Die Gewinnung von unterirdischem Erz wurde jedoch 1955 eingestellt. 1964 setzte ein Erdrutsch auf der Bahnstrecke Fond-de-Gras - Pétange allen Bahnaktivitäten endgültig ein Ende. Demnächst engagieren sich Freiwillige für den Betrieb eines Touristenzuges mit historischen Dampflokomotiven. Der erste "Zug 1900" pfiff 1973.

Einige Jahre später ist ein altes Bergwerk wieder geöffnet und kann dank der Grubenbahn "Minièresbunn" besichtigt werden, die heute ein beeindruckendes Erlebnis bei der Besichtigung des Bergwerksgrundes bietet.

Dieses Freilichtmuseum, das heute unter dem Namen Minett Park Fond-de-Gras bekannt ist, bietet viele ergänzende Aktivitäten, bei denen Eisenerz der rote Faden ist. Dazu gehören: Fond-de-Gras, das Dorf Lasauvage, der ehemalige Tagebau "Giele Botter" und das keltische Oppidum Titelberg.
