Urk, zusammen mit Schokland, gehört ebenfalls zur streng reformierten und konservativen Bibelgürtel. Auch Urk war, wie Schokland, bis zur Trockenlegung eine Insel, jetzt liegt es am Rand der Polder am IJsselmeer. Es hat einen Binnen- und einen Außenhafen und eine Flotte, die sowohl in der Nordsee als auch im IJsselmeer fischen (für Scholle und Flunder ist es der erste Hafen der Niederlande). Wie gesagt, die Urker legen großen Wert auf Traditionen, nicht nur im Glauben, sondern auch in Bezug auf Kleidung: Die traditionelle Tracht wird dort gerne getragen.
