Im Jahr 1633 bekam Willem Ripperda die Erlaubnis, um die Oostendorper Mühlen zu errichten. Am Anfang des zwanzigsten Jahrhundert drohte die Mühle zu verfallen und musste 1930 restauriert werden. 1946 verschwanden die Mühlen großenteils im hohen Wasser des Tümpels und wurden erst 1987 wieder vollkommen hergerichtet. Seit Mai 1988 ist die Mühle wieder im Betrieb und zugänglich für Besucher, die sich anschauen können, wie Mehl gemalen und Öl geschlagen wird.
