Nach einem verheerenden Wirbelsturm im Jahr 1577 wurde die Kirche mit dem Turm schwer beschädigt. Es dauerte lange, bis die Kirche restauriert wurde. Erst 60 Jahre später, im Jahr 1637, konnte die Kirche wieder in Gebrauch genommen werden. Die Kirche von 1637 wurde in der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts und 1909 erweitert. Dadurch stieg die Anzahl der Sitzplätze auf 1400. Jeden Sonntag sind die Gottesdienste in dieser niederländisch-reformierten Kirche gut besucht.
