Das Hof von Heythuysen wurde 1650 aus dem Nachlass von Willem Heythuysen gegründet, der am 4. oder 6. Juli desselben Jahres verstarb. Er war ein unverheirateter reicher Textilhändler aus Haarlem, geboren zwischen 1585 und 1590. Seine Schwester war die einzige Erbin seines Vermögens und er hatte bestimmt, dass nach ihrem Tod ein Hof aus dem restlichen Geld gegründet werden sollte. Da auch die Schwester sehr schnell starb, wurde noch im Jahr 1650 mit dem Bau begonnen.
