Die Siedlung wurde bereits 1407 erwähnt. Es gibt einige monumentale Bauernhöfe, wie den Kurzgevel-Bauernhof "De Martiene Plats", dessen Geschichte bis ins Jahr 1640 zurückreicht.
Einige hundert Meter südwestlich von Weverslo liegt der Weverslose Berg. Dies ist eine ehemalige Düne, die bewaldet ist und mit 38,6 Metern den höchsten Punkt von Nord-Limburg darstellt. Oben auf dieser Düne befindet sich ein Aussichtspunkt. Der Wald besteht hauptsächlich aus Eichen, die für Brennholz genutzt wurden und zudem den Sand festhielten. Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg wurde kein Brennholz mehr geschlagen, wodurch die Eichen zu einem Wald heranwuchsen.
