Rund um den Dobbeplas wurde ein morastiges Feuchtgebiet mit viel Wasser und Schilfrohr angelegt.
Das Feuchtgebiet liegt viel tiefer als das umliegende Polder, da hier in der Vergangenheit Torf gestochen wurde. Das morastige Gebiet wurde nach der Ausgrabung des Torfs mit Bäumen bepflanzt und wird von Staatsbosbeheer verwaltet. Es gibt eine Fülle an Nahrung und viele Möglichkeiten für Nistplätze; ein wahres Paradies für Vögel. Der Wanderweg lässt Sie das Gebiet intim erleben, und vielleicht begegnen Sie dabei weidenden Galloway-Rindern oder isländischen Pferden.
