Uşak ist die Hauptstadt der türkischen Provinz Uşak und zugleich Zentrum eines direkt dem Gouverneur unterstellten Kreises, des zentralen Landkreises . Die Stadt liegt etwa 320 km Luftlinie südwestlich der Landeshauptstadt Ankara.
Die Stadt liegt auf Platz 40 der bevölkerungsreichsten Städte der Türkei.
Durch ihre Anbindung an die Hauptverkehrsstrecke zwischen İzmir, Istanbul und Ankara fungiert Uşak auch als Einkaufsziel für die Bewohner umliegender Landkreise wie Selendi und Gediz .
