San Nicolas ist eine der südlichen Gruppe der kalifornischen Kanalinseln im Pazifischen Ozean. Administrativ gehört die Insel zum Ventura County, verwaltet wird sie jedoch von der United States Navy.
San Nicolas weist eine Länge von knapp 15 km, eine Breite von bis zu 5,53 km sowie eine Fläche von 58,93 km² auf. Die Insel hat keine permanente Bevölkerung, jedoch halten sich bis zu 200 Personen auf ihr auf. San Nicolas erreicht im Jackson Hill eine Höhe von 276 m über dem Meer. Der Insel im Westen vorgelagert ist der bei Tauchern beliebte Felsen Begg Rock, der sich 90 m vom Meeresgrund erhebt und noch eine Höhe von 4 m über dem Meer erreicht.
