Discover the beers and cheeses of Maredsous at the Saint-Joseph Reception Centre where the monks welcome you for a friendly and tasty experience. One of the most beautiful abbeys in Belgium, the Abbey of Maredsous is located in the province of Namur, about 25 km from the capital of Wallonia and 20 km from Dinant. Built in 1872 by Benedictines in a neo-Gothic style, the abbey offers pilgrims and tourists a magnificent architectural ensemble. At the Saint-Joseph Reception Centre, you will find a cafeteria, souvenir shop and a free playground. At the Abbey of Maredsous, you can take guided tours in French and Dutch. Your guide will take you to discover the abbey, the cemetery, the monks' garden, the ceramics workshops and the cheese factory (visit outside). After your guided tour (with or without tasting) or a walk in the Molignée valley, you can enjoy the peace and quiet, meet the monks and discover their way of life.
