In the centre of the Purgatory Forests, the so-called Hendriksberg forms a striking relief element (cuesta or asymmetrical hill). Here, as part of nature development, forest was cut down to develop an open view from dry heathland to the lower-lying wetter grasslands. Due to the gradient from wet to dry on the slope and the favourable sunlight, we expect a great diversity of natural values. A species such as viviparous lizard can also be expected here.
