This place breathes history. The St. Lambertus Church, located in the heart of the district, is one of the oldest monuments in Ekeren. Perhaps a church was built here as early as the tenth century. The choir of the current church dates from the fifteenth century and the western tower was built even before 1504. The church is probably named after Bishop Lambertus, who preached the faith in this region in the seventh century. On the north side of the building, at the height of the high choir, lies the mausoleum of the Plantin-Moretus printing family, known from the museum of the same name in Antwerp.
