Assignment:
Let them enter the bakery and buy a mattentaart. Let them taste it and guess what it could be.
History:
Since the establishment of the Brotherhood of the mattentaart (1979) and the annual 'Day of the Mattentaart', this local delicacy became known far beyond national borders. This treat, lovingly and carefully prepared by local bakers, is a regional product whose origins date back to the Middle Ages. The 'matten' can be found in old dialects in Germany, France, and Flanders. Mats were used to make sauces and later to prepare pies. In a local bakery, you can follow the production of mattentaarten from the 'matten' to the pastries baked in puff pastry. Of course, the baker personally provides an explanation, and you can taste delicious freshly baked mattentaarten, a feast for food lovers!
