Heritage walk offered by Erfgoed Vlaanderen (more info: www.toekomstvooronsverleden.be) and published in the member magazine 'Erfwoord'.

The city centre of Maaseik is small and compact. The elongated
Hexagon of 400 by 700 meters, which formed the perimeter of the former walled city, can still be traced without difficulty. Over a limited distance, the walker is amazed by the work of architects and craftsmen who, from the 16th to the beginning of the 18th century, built houses with great good taste that still largely form the valuable architectural heritage of Maaseik.
