Departure from the Slijterij De Roos for a nearly flat route of 125 km towards the beautiful Hedwigepolder, as long as it is still possible. We cross the border in Koewacht via Puyenbroeck. Along the fortifications of Hulst, we continue to the easternmost point of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. Between the flooded land of Saeftinghe, the largest marshland in Europe, and the Belgian ghost town of Doel lies the Hedwigepolder, which will no longer be accessible and will be flooded in a few months. On our way back, we travel along Axel and Mendonk back to the Roos.
