The walk goes along 75% unpaved roads, with the first part along the slopes of the red and black mountain on the Flemish side. Halfway through the walk, on top of the black mountain, there are possible stopping places (food and drink). The second part along the slopes on the French side is practically entirely unpaved. Via the countless wooden walking and forest paths, you eventually return to the parking lot of the Baneberg.

You start at walking junction 37 (right next to the parking lot at Lijstermolendreef 5-7, Heuvelland – from there towards walking junctions 36, 35, 33, 25, 24, 23, 65, 64, 21, 14, 8, 9, 10, 95, 73, 99, 50, 1, 12, 2, 3, 4, 94, 93, 63, 62, 61, 60, 41, 40, and 37.
