The Protestant Christ Chapel is prominently located in the community of Uder in the district of Eichsfeld in Thuringia, centrally situated on the Street of Unity.
At the beginning of the 20th century, the desire for a local place of worship grew. The construction of the Christ Chapel was supported by numerous donors and Protestant congregations. The Bleicherode church district donated the bell for the steeple. The municipal community of Uder financed the tower clock. The Wernigerode church district provided the pulpit and altar vestments, while the cross came from Bad Liebenwerda, as the Superintendent of Liebenwerda, Eiselen, had once introduced the service in Uder while serving as a deacon in Heiligenstadt. The Protestant community in Heiligenstadt donated two church windows. Donations were also made to complete the interior furnishings.
