The Dwarf Cave is a karst cave located on the southern ridge of the Teutoburg Forest in the Bielefeld district of Senne. The natural monument is part of the nature reserve "Eastern Teutoburg Forest" and is the only natural cave in the city of Bielefeld.
The first scientific exploration of the cave took place shortly after it was cleared out by Julius Wilbrand around 1887. This first survey resulted in a length of 20.80 meters. In the following years, the cave was largely filled in again by collapse material. At the end of the 20th century, the cave was excavated and surveyed again. The current length of the cave is given as 11 meters. In order to protect the bats wintering in the cave, a protective grid was attached to the cave for the first time in 2011, which has since been stolen. The grid is closed from September to May. The cave is off the designated trails and is not easy to find due to the lack of signage. From the hiking trail southwest of the cave, a distance of about 120 meters uphill must be completed. The cave is located on a ridge, about 50 meters below the summit of the Jostmeiers Berg 260.5 m, from which a good view of the Bielefeld district of Sennestadt opens up.
