Wollseifen was a village on the Dreiborn Plateau, not far from the former Nazi town of Ordensburg Vogelsang, in what is now the Eifel National Park.
After the end of World War II, British forces claimed the village. The inhabitants have had three weeks to leave the village. It was on the surrounding land that the Vogelsang military training area was created, which was handed over to the Belgian army in 1950. Since January 1, 2006, after the abandonment of the military training area, the place, now deserted, is once again open to the public. The desert village of Wollseifen is a listed archaeological monument and a ground monument of the Nordeifel Archaeregion.
