At the exit of the village towards Lüdinghausen lies a larger chapel, commonly known as the Pest Chapel. The name probably comes from the fact that there was a holy mass celebrated there during the plague procession on the 2nd Sunday after Corpus Christi.
During the grand procession, the blessing is given in the chapel. At the time of the holy missions, it served as a confession chapel. After the construction of the new parish church, it was only used for the former purpose. An interesting note in the chronicle is that the communion rail and the pulpit from the old parish church, which was torn down in 1911, were temporarily placed in "Düpmanns Kapelle" before Pastor Speckmann donated them to Lindfort. The funds for necessary renovations were always provided by the community as a whole and individual members. In 1878, a comprehensive restoration took place for the first time, during which the roof and tower received the slate covering from the Moselle that remains to this day. After the door and floor were replaced in 1963, a refurbishment of the walls and ceiling followed in 1975. On this occasion, the windows installed in 1897 had to make way for a less beautiful but more durable concrete glazing.
Something special and only recently recognized for its significance is the Baroque altar piece made of Baumberger sandstone in the chapel, with the figure of John of Nepomuk standing in a niche. The artist depicted the saint in the characteristic way for this figure – in priestly attire with a fur-trimmed shoulder cloak, as worn by holders of high church offices, along with a cross and a palm branch as symbols of following Christ and martyrdom.
