This route leads northwest to the traces of local tobacco processing. While cigar production was widespread throughout the region, the city of Bünde appears to have had the largest share. At times, every third cigar made in Germany came from the second largest city in the district, earning it the nickname "Germany's Cigar Box" or "Cigar City."
