Description by the author

From the municipal office in Hohenweiler, the trail first leads to Gehren. From there, the trail leads steadily uphill - partly across meadows and partly through shady forests - to Schönstein. On a section of the Möggers forest adventure trail, the path leads through the wild and romantic gorge forest in the Sögetobel. The educational adventure trail offers lots of interesting information about life in and with the forest.

From the ravine forest, the trail leads out onto the open meadows near Buchans. Here the view opens up to the north on the other side of the Rohrach gorge, where you can already see one of the next stage destinations, the Wendelinskapelle chapel. From Buchans in Austria, the hiking trail continues over the border to Aizenreute, which is already in Germany. From there, it is only a few minutes to Rickenbach and the Scheidegg waterfalls, which are one of the 100 most beautiful geotopes in Bavaria.

Afterwards, the trail continues over the Ostkinberg to the Wendelinskapelle chapel, from where there is a wonderful view of Lake Constance and the Swiss mountains, before a section of the Way of St. James takes hikers to Niederstaufen. From Niederstaufen, the hike continues down to Leiblach. There, it is recommended that you first walk a few meters upstream. The short detour leads to a ledge over which the river plunges several meters into the depths.

Afterwards, you walk on a narrow footbridge, renewed in 2000, to the other side of the Leiblach. After a bend in the river, a hidden rest area invites you to linger. The route continues via Dornach to Sigmarszell, from where a short, steep stitch leads back down to the Leiblach and the Zellersteg. Crossing the river marks the border crossing from Germany to Austria again. After a few minutes' walk, you will finally reach the starting point of the hike.</p
