Frauensteinweg

The starting point is at Gasthof Russenbräu in Tiefenbach. The trail leads along Waldbadstraße to the end of the village at "Waldbad". Shortly after the Waldbad restaurant, you can decide whether to continue straight ahead or take the right-hand path via the Schönbrunnen Chapel. After approx. 1.1 km, this right-hand route leads to hiking trail Tb7 and after a further kilometer you reach the Schönbrunnen Chapel along the rosaries. After approx. 200 meters you meet the alternative path again and after approx. 2.5 km you return to the Waldbad. If you follow the path towards Frauenstein, the next kilometer is the steepest section. After a further 700 meters, the trail takes a sharp right uphill over the Signalberg to the Frauenstein castle ruins, the destination of the hike. From there, you return along the same route and reach the village of Altenschneeberg without any major changes in direction. There you can make a short detour to the castle hill and enjoy a wonderful panoramic view. The trail then descends over the Schneeberg slopes to Tiefenbach and back to the starting point.
