The Gorgos river, known in some sections as the river of Castells, is a typical Mediterranean ravine that mainly flows through the Valencian region of Marina Alta. It has been declared as a Site of Community Importance (SCI) by the European Union due to the high ecological and environmental value of this river.
This river originates near the town of Fageca, where it collects the rains from the Serrella and Alfaro mountains. In Arab times, it was known by the name of river
