Vielleségure is a French commune with 385 inhabitants in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. It belongs to the Pau arrondissement and the Le Cœur de Béarn canton. The inhabitants are called Vielleségurois. Vielleségure is located in the historic province of Béarn at the foot of the Pyrenees, which, along with the French Basque Country, forms the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department. The commune is situated ten kilometers south of Lacq. The Saleys, a tributary of the Gave d’Oloron, originates at the municipal boundary. The Laâ, a tributary of the Gave de Pau, originates in the commune of Vielleségure. Both rivers flow into the Gaves Réunis and later into the Adour, which empties into the Atlantic Ocean at Bayonne.
