The Johan Friso Canal is a canal in the Dutch province of Friesland. The canal connects the IJsselmeer via the Johan Friso lock near Stavoren with the Princess Margriet Canal, to which it connects east of Hommerts, just north of the Koevordermeer. The canal is a busy waterway, both for cargo and pleasure boats, the latter of course especially in the summer. Between the Princess Margriet Canal and Stavoren, the canal crosses four lakes, namely: the Heegermeer, which merges into the Fluessen, De Holken and finally the Morra.
